VoiceInput · dictation for iPhone and Mac · public beta

Speak, and it’s typed. What you say becomes what you know.

In WeChat, Mail or your CRM, tap the mic and talk: clean text lands in the field, in Chinese, English or both in one sentence. Turn on memory and your Mac sorts each day’s quotes, promises and client requests overnight into a knowledge base your own AI can search.

  • On-device by default: audio stays on the phone
  • Chinese, English, or both in one sentence
  • Free during the public beta

What VoiceInput does

VoiceInput listens and remembers; it ships no assistant of its own. The thinking is left to the AI you already use.

Talk instead of typing

Tap the mic on the keyboard, or hold the space bar and talk. Fillers, repeats and corrections ("send it to Zhang — no, to Li") come out as the sentence you meant.

Typing, too

Pinyin and English typing are built in, with the names and words you use most right in the bar. Hold the mic to rewrite a selection, translate, or start a meeting.

Meetings, noted

Record a meeting and get notes when it ends. Before it starts, it reminds you to tell the people in the room.

A knowledge base, built overnight (Mac)

With "Remember what I say" on, your Mac reads the day’s new dictations each night and files them under quotes, clients, commitments, decisions and lessons, each with your own words attached. Ask your AI "what did I quote Mr. Wang last time?" and it can look it up.

Where your words go

Only what you say, kept on your own devices

By default it uses the speech recognition built into iPhone and Mac: the audio never leaves the device, and dictation works without a connection.

For higher accuracy you can switch to a cloud service (Groq, Cloudflare, OpenAI or your own server), and connect Claude, DeepSeek or Gemini for cleanup. Before anything is sent the first time, the app says where it goes and what is sent, and waits for your yes; you can turn it off in Settings at any time.

It keeps only what you say: your dictations and the meetings you record. Messages other people send you are never read or remembered, and apps such as password managers can be left out entirely.

Your history lives on your devices and in your own iCloud; NextAgent never receives it. You choose how long it is kept, from 7 days to forever, and can delete all of it in one step.

FAQ

About VoiceInput

Why does it need Full Access? Does it record what I type?

iOS doesn’t let a keyboard use the microphone, so the VoiceInput app records for it; Full Access only lets the keyboard share files with the app and open it. The keyboard has no networking code, and what you type never leaves the phone by itself.

What does it cost?

It is free during the beta. Recognition and cleanup use the service you pick: the built-in one is free, Groq and Cloudflare have free tiers, and OpenAI, Claude and the like bill you at their own prices, directly, not through us.

Which devices? How do I get the Mac version?

iPhone needs iOS 17 or later. The Mac app needs macOS 14 or later and lives in the menu bar; press Fn + Control to dictate, and the knowledge base is built there. Download the Mac version on this page (a DMG notarized by Apple) and drag it into Applications.

How is the beta different from the release?

The beta has one extra choice, "NextAgent test server". If you pick it, your recordings may be kept on our server to tune recognition, and the consent screen says so; if you don’t, nothing is kept. The release won’t have this option.

Does it come with its own AI assistant?

No. VoiceInput listens and remembers; the thinking is done by the AI you already use, through MCP on the Mac (Claude and others) and Shortcuts on iPhone. Your history isn’t locked into any one AI.
