VoiceInput Privacy Policy
VoiceInput is a dictation and meeting-notes app for Mac and iPhone, made by NextAgent AI Solutions. What you say and write stays on your own devices and in your own iCloud. NextAgent runs no server that receives it.
Effective: October 18, 2026
Where your data lives
This content is stored on your devices and syncs between them through your private iCloud (the CloudKit private database, container iCloud.ca.nextagent.voiceinput):
- Dictation history (Mac).
- The last week of dictations on iPhone. With “Send dictations” on, they sync to your Mac through your iCloud.
- Vocabulary, meeting notes and the knowledge base.
What NextAgent does not receive
NextAgent operates no server that receives this content, so we cannot see your recordings, text, notes or history. The App Store release contains no upload endpoint for NextAgent (for the betas, see below).
Syncing is done entirely by Apple’s iCloud, under Apple’s terms and your Apple Account.
Optional AI providers
Speech recognition, text cleanup, meeting summaries, the nightly review and the knowledge base can use the AI provider you configure, for example Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq, Cloudflare, or your own server.
Nothing is sent to a provider until you consent in the app. Consent is per provider, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → Data sent to AI.
Once you consent, this is what is sent:
- Dictation: the audio or text you dictate. For text cleanup, also the name of the app, the window title and nearby on-screen text.
- Meetings: the recording or transcript.
- Nightly review and knowledge base: your dictation history.
With one-click Cloudflare setup, you sign in to Cloudflare on NextAgent’s installer page, which uses that access only to create a small Worker named voiceinput-ai in your own account and revokes it as soon as it is done; recordings and text then go straight to that Worker and are processed by Cloudflare in your account, never through NextAgent. Once a provider has this content, that provider’s own privacy policy applies. Without your consent, VoiceInput uses on-device speech recognition and skips every AI feature.
Beta versions
The TestFlight beta and the Mac beta have one extra choice, “NextAgent test server”. Only if you pick it and agree on the consent screen are your recordings and text sent to NextAgent’s test server, which keeps the recordings and their transcripts solely to improve recognition. If you don’t pick it, nothing is sent. The App Store release has no such option.
Optional remote MCP service
If you want your own AI assistant to read your meeting notes, you can connect mcp.nextagent.ca. It is optional, and the apps never call it themselves.
The service stores only three things: your CloudKit sign-in token, your CloudKit user record name, and OAuth grants. Meeting notes pass through memory; they are not stored or logged.
What VoiceInput does not read
VoiceInput never reads messages other people send you. It handles only what you say and what you choose to use it on.
Recording meetings
Before you record a meeting, tell the participants and get their consent. The app reminds you when you start recording.
The keyboard
The iPhone keyboard needs “Allow Full Access” to share files with the main app and to open it. The keyboard has no networking code, and the text you type never leaves the device by itself.
iOS blocks third-party keyboards in secure fields such as password boxes, and the VoiceInput keyboard is no exception.
Your controls
- Set how long history is kept.
- Exclude apps, so nothing from them is remembered.
- Pause memory at any time.
- Delete all memory in one step.
- Revoke consent for any AI provider at any time.
Ads and tracking
VoiceInput contains no advertising and no third-party tracking or analytics. We do not sell your data. The diagnostics log is sent only when you tap Share.
Children
VoiceInput is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
NextAgent is based in Canada. We handle personal information with reference to Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Your content is on your own devices and in your own iCloud, where you can view, change and delete it. For the small amount we do hold (for example MCP service grants), write to us and we will help you see or delete it.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we will update this page and the date above.
